Biking to the Jizera Mountains
(Otokar Simm)
The Jablonec area and the Jizera Mountains are mountainous regions and so our suggested bike trips all head into the hills. You're sure to need good gears and brakes. The routes suggested all involve only hard tracks, mainly on roads that are used by forestry commission staff. The surface of the tracks is asphalt in places, reinforced with panels or compacted granite gravel in others. All routes can be negotiated on all types of bike with a sufficient degree of care.
The starting and finishing point of all proposed trips is Jablonec nad Nisou, but there are obviously other possible combinations.

Biking to Královka and the source of the River Nisa
Length of route: 28 km. Not such a long route, but considerable uphill sections to be negotiated. The longest uphill section, from Jablonec to Bedřichov, can be negotiated by taking the cyclobus. This reduces the length of the route by 10 km.
-
Through Kristiánov to Mariánskohorské boudy
The length of the basic track from Bedřichov to Josefův Důl is around 23 km: an undemanding trip for all. Add another 17 km if you return to Jablonec by bike, with a longer uphill stretch to Hrabětice.
-
Around the Jizera Mountains
The length of this route is 80 km (without using the cyclobus). Intended for trained cyclists
-
Beautiful views in Jizerka and Smědava
The length of the route is approximately 42 km. This is a comfortable route with a longer uphill section right at the beginning (at Václavíkova studánka).
-
To the Černá Nisa reservoir and Česká chalupa
This route is 30 km in length (when you use the cyclobus). It is a comfortable route with a demanding section from Rudolfov to Maliník
