Nad Prosečí lodge and lookout tower

First, in 1892 German a Mountain Club built a 6-metre high wooden frame lookout tower on Prosečský Ridge but thanks to the weather it was totally destroyed in summer 1901. The Jablonec Mountain Club then asked the architect Hemmrich to design a cheap lookout tower. He designed a 12-metre high wooden structure shaped as a sheltered watchtower, which was inaugurated in 1908. The lookout tower functioned until 21st August 1921 when it was destroyed by a strong hurricane. After prolonged arguments among the board of the Jablonec Club, in 1928 Konrád Hübner built a private Nad Prosečí Lodge. The Jablonec Club then cooperated with Robert Hemmrich and built a 28-metre high massive tower of granite blocks with an observatory superstructure on top. The lookout tower was inaugurated 21st August 1932 as the last one in the Jizerské Mountains. The lodge burnt up in summer 2003 and now is unfortunately closed.
