The Museum of Glass and Costume Jewellery (Muzeum skla a bižuterie)

The glass and costume jewellery museum introduces visitors to the history of glass production, which has a long-standing tradition in Jablonec. The main Art Nouveau building is home to the best of extensive collections of glass, costume jewellery, coins, medallions, and plaques. The museum also houses a specialised library that focuses on the history and present of the glass and costume jewellery industry, artistic glass and jewellery. There are two permanent exhibitions on view here about the past and present of Bohemian glassmaking, jewellery making, costume jewellery, and minting in Jablonec: The Magic World of Costume Jewellery and the Enchanted Garden of Glass. These permanent exhibitions offer visitors information at a number of different levels. They allow visitors to delve into deeper contexts, whilst also providing the opportunity to simply meditate or play with parts of exhibits. Other exhibitions are also staged here and accompanying programmes put together. You can also buy souvenirs (glass and costume jewellery) in the pleasant glass shop.
