The Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Hejnice is a National Cultural Monument of the Czech Republic.
Originally, the site was occupied by a small wooden chapel, which was gradually extended. The wooden Gothic-style statue of the Black Madonna from 1380 is the most valuable object. In front of the temple there is a Marian pillar that was raised in 1695. The site of the chapel boasts precious Baroque-style statues of St. Václav, St. John of Nepomuk and a calvary scene. The chapel also houses the exposition of Hejnice Nativity Scene made by an unknown author in the 18th century. However, it must undoubtedly have been a local artist, for the Nativity Scene captures scenes from the life of Franciscans and the surroundings of Hejnice.
