The Botanical Garden in Liberec celebrates 130 years!

The Botanical Garden in Liberec celebrates a significant anniversary this year. More than 130 years have passed since its opening. It welcomed its first visitors on 5 September 1895 and since then it has been one of the most visited and important gardens in the Czech Republic.

The peak of the celebrations is approaching
Exactly on the day of the anniversary, that is Friday, September 5, 2025, a major celebration of 130 years of the garden's existence will take place. Visitors can look forward to a varied programme for young and old — musical performances, creative workshops, themed activities and other surprises that will transform the garden into a place full of colour, fragrance and joy.

The Botanical Garden invites all lovers of nature and greenery to come to celebrate this beautiful jubilee together. A detailed program of the event will be posted by the garden on its website and social networks.

Garden with unique collections
Today, the Liberec Botanical Garden preserves more than 9,000 species of plants from all over the world. It is especially known to the public for its greenhouses in the shape of crystalline druze, where visitors will find orchids, carnivorous plants, aquariums with tropical fish or the famous Victoria royal.

The garden is not only a place of rest, but also an important center of science and education.

New visual appearance
For the jubilee anniversary, the garden has also given a new visual style that refers to tradition and at the same time opens the way to a modern presentation of this exceptional place.
