The Jizera Mountains are not a destination full of romantic castles and castles, but for that we have beautiful nature and cities where filmmakers love to shoot.

One of the cities is Liberec. The North Bohemian town lies between the Ještěd Ridge and the Jizera Mountains, less than an hour's drive from Prague. Its history dates back to the time when trade routes led through these places. But Liberec experienced major changes in the second half of the 18th century, when the city center was built with brick houses in classicist forms. The beginning of the 19th century marked the development of the textile industry, and therefore of industrial architecture. At this time, a number of representative buildings were created that gave the city grandeur. Due to its well-preserved architecture, it is often sought after among film productions from around the world as an authentic backdrop for historical stories. Liberec often does not represent itself, but one of the European capitals. Most often it is Vienna or Hamburg. In Liberec, the interiors of the historic town hall building, the North Bohemian Museum, the train station, the square in front of the town hall building and the Pod Branou square are often used for filming. On the screen you could also see the F. X. Shaldy Theatre, Masaryk Street or the Mountain Hotel and the Ještěd TV transmitter. Foreign films include The Last Visa, Genius, Brecht and Carnival Row. Czech productions include Once in Paradise, Milada and the series Smetana. On the other hand, fairy tales such as Beauty and the Beast, Rumpl cimprcampr, How Not to Marry a Princess and Hell with a Princess were filmed in the Frýdlant outcrop.
