Observation tower Černá studnice (869 m above sea level) is one of the most important viewpoints of the Jizera Mountains and at the same time one of their highest stone observation towers. It was built in 1886 according to the design of architect Robert Hemmrich, and it took over a year to build from massive, up to three tons heavy granite blocks. The tower measures 26 meters, and 91 steps take you to its top. During the ascent you can stop at four walks and enjoy views of Ještěd, Giant Mountains with Sněžka, Ralsko, Kozákov, Trosky, Bezděz and other observation towers in the vicinity.

The summit can be reached by car, bicycle or hiking trails — for example, by a red-marked route from Lučany nad Nisou station.
