Pilgrimage place Hejnice

Visit pilgrimage site in Hejnice - In this area you will find not only the monumental Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, but also the Way of the Cross. The pilgrimage site is also part of the Via Sacra trail, a sacred path of 550 km, running along both sides of the Nisa River.

The pilgrimage site with the temple has been a national cultural monument of the Czech Republic since 2018. The most valuable object is a wooden Gothic sculpture of the Black Madonna from 1380. The interior of the temple is decorated with a huge crystal chandelier, which was donated to Hejnice by a local native - Josef Riedel.

At the end of the 17th century, a Franciscan monastery was added to the church, which was opened as the International Centre for Spiritual Renewal in 2001 after extensive reconstruction.
