The oldest iron observation tower in Bohemia with picturesque views of Jablonec nad Nisou, Liberec and the surrounding ridges

Slavanka Lookout Tower (820 m above sea level) boasts the title of the oldest iron observation tower in the Czech Republic. It was built in 1887 from an iron structure transferred from the Vienna World Exhibition thanks to the initiative of three sections of the Mountain Association. Over the years, it experienced periods of both glory and decline, including the devastation of the adjacent cottage by a lightning strike. After years of dilapidation and closure, the observation tower was able to be renovated and reopened in 2000 thanks to the efforts of a local association.
Today it is a technical monument and from its 14-meter observation deck you can enjoy a magnificent view of Jablonec, Liberec and the picturesque peaks of the Jizera Mountains.
