One of Central Europe's most renowned bike centers offers over 80 kilometers of one-way natural trails. This popular area has undergone a significant transformation and enters the new season with modern facilities and new trails. You can expect berms, rocky sections, and playful stretches winding through the forest. Thanks to its diverse profile, both recreational riders and those seeking more technical terrain will enjoy the ride. The area also includes 12 kilometers of one-way trails and convenient access to the cable car.
If you're drawn to steep descents, roots, obstacles, and technical sections, head to Ještěd. The local tracks will test the skills and courage of more experienced riders. This modern bike park near Liberec was created under the patronage of Tomáš Slavík, a three-time Fourcross World Champion. You'll find a pumptrack, jumps, obstacles, and trails for riders of all levels. The year 2026 in the Jizera Mountains will be marked by significant anniversaries, cultural events, and commemorations of events that shaped the entire region. Visitors can look forward to city festivals, commemorative programs, and celebrations of the glassmaking tradition, which is inextricably linked with the Jizera Mountains.
Jablonec nad Nisou commemorates several significant milestones this year – 670 years since its first written mention, 160 years since its elevation to a town, and 120 years since the granting of its municipal coat of arms. The main part of the celebrations will take place on September 18th and 19th, when the city center will come alive with historical and cultural programs.
The celebrations will also include the International Folklore Festival, which will bring music, traditional dances, and folk traditions from the Czech Republic and abroad. The atmosphere will be further enhanced by the jubilee of the iconic Petřín hotel and restaurant, which celebrates its 120th birthday.
A significant anniversary will also commemorate a tragic event in the region's history. This year marks 110 years since the breach of the dam on the Bílá Desná river. A commemorative event organized by Desná and Albrechtice in the Jizera Mountains will take place on September 19th directly at the breached dam.
This season will also feature glass and jewelry, which are typical for the Jizera Mountains. The glassmaking settlement of Kristiánov celebrates 250 years since the start of glass melting. This year's Glass Festival will be grander than ever thanks to Kristiánov's quarter-millennium existence.
After three years, the International Triennial of Glass and Jewelry also returns to Jablonec nad Nisou, showcasing the best of contemporary local and global work. The summer season will then be complemented by popular mainstays:
